100% Garganega grown on red and black volcanic soils in a single vineyard in Pigno, known as one of the best terroirs in the hilly Classico zone and one of the official crus recognised in 2019. Super concentration in this warmer year, with peach and apricot fruit with hints of lemon and salt. It has taken on a little extra fat in the last couple of months and is drinking beautifully now. Dolcetto, of Piedmont origin, means "little sweet" but the grape is usually vinified dry. It can be crafted to make diverse styles, from a light, fruity wine for serving chilled to a concentrated, oaked wine for ageing. The name means ‘One Plus One’ and this is a very approachable blend of Puglia’s most best two red grapes. This is the first vintage we have shipped since Michele decided to drop the oak and age only in stainless steel. We think it makes for a much improved wine.
