The 2026s are here: New vintages from Goedverwacht, South Africa
The arrival of the first wines from the calendar year is always fun; fresh, brand spanking new whites from the southern hemisphere to enjoy with the last of the evening sunshine in late summer and early autumn. Goedverwacht in South Africa were first off the mark this year with their 2026 Sauvignon and Chenin (we always ship the Chardonnay a year behind as we like to let it settle in bottle). The excitement of the new arrivals was tempered, however, by the awful news the Goedverwacht winery and vineyards had been severely damaged by flash floods back in June, just when the new vintages were being bottled. It has been all hands on deck in recent months to repair the damage. Our thoughts remain with the du Toit family and fingers crossed all will be back up and running in time for the 2027 vintage.
