Jane Anson

Jane Anson is Decanter’s Bordeaux correspondent and has lived in the region since 2003. She writes a monthly wine column for Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post, a weekly column for DecanterChina.com, and is the author of Bordeaux Legends: The 1855 First Growth Wines (also published in French as Elixirs). In addition, she has contributed to the Michelin guide to the Wine Regions of France and was the Bordeaux and Southwest France author of The Wine Opus and 1000 Great Wines That Won’t Cost a Fortune. An accredited wine teacher at the Bordeaux École du Vin, Anson holds a masters in publishing from University College London, and a tasting diploma from the Bordeaux Faculty of oenology.

 

Matt Walls

Decanter Premium, Decanter Magazine, Rhône Expert and DWWA 2019 Regional Chair for the Rhône

Matt Walls is an award-winning freelance wine writer and consultant, contributing regular articles to various print and online titles including Decanter, where he is a contributing editor. He publishes the blog mattwalls.co.uk, for which he was named the 2015 International Wine & Spirit Competition Blogger of the Year.

His first book on wine, Drink Me!, won Best Newcomer at the 2013 Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards. In addition to writing, Walls advises restaurants on wine lists, hosts tastings and judges at food and wine competitions.

He was previously fine wine manager at UK importer Mentzendorff, and bought wines for the flagship store of London’s The Sampler.

He writes about all areas of wine, but specialises in the Rhône, for which he was Regional Chair at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2019.

 

Matthew Luczy

Matthew Luczy is a freelance sommelier based in Los Angeles, and regularly contributes on California wines for Decanter.
