Roero Riserva isn’t well known here, but it’s a worthy alternative for more expensive Barolo, especially if from a single vineyard as here (Bric = a hilltop). Roero lies just across the river Tanaro from Barbaresco. the Riserva must be aged for a total of 32 months before release, including a minimum of six months in barrel (here about two years in wood, half in small barriques, half in old vats).
