Domaine de la Ribotte (Bandol)

Bandol is Mourvèdre country. A small, coastal appellation between Marseilles and Toulon it produces distinctive rosés and robust reds. Ribotte is a tiny domaine run by Bandol’s first female winemaker, Laurence Desblaches, and her son Nicolas. Most of their production is still sold at a stall at Bandol’s famous farmers’ market and has been since the days of Nicolas’s great grandmother. Their handwritten invoices with the meticulous, peculiarly French numbers are a work of art in themselves.
