A cross of it with Sauvignon Blanc resulted in Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc tends to be softer and has less tannins than Cabernet Sauvignon, although the two can be difficult to distinguish. Many of the red wines of the Loire are primarily Cabernet Franc.

The Francisco family - now with father and daughter Stephanie working together - have been making wine at the Château de la Croix (now a Cru Bourgeois) in the northern part of the Médoc since 1870. Pey-Martin is another of their labels, in this vintage 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
Classic Left Bank Bordeaux at a reasonable price: good youthful hue; pure, red fruit aromas; mid-weight, almost pretty, with red cherry and berry flavours tickld with vanilla. But there’s a correct structure there too. Now-2027
