One of our long-term favourites, from 60-100 year old vines on the granitic hills just to the south of Morgon. Gérard is the father chez Lagneau. As ever - we have been shipping this ever since the 2001 vintage - this is terrific. The depth of colour, intensity of bramble and black cherry flavours and real stuffing is rarely seen in Beaujolais at this price. Juicy and stimulating. Now-2027
Régnié is arguably the least known of all the Beaujolais Crus; it was the last to be given appellation status in 1988. But from vineyards across steep, granitic hills just to the west of Morgon, the wines are properly dense and textured - especially from the Lagneaus' ancient vines, which are mainly 60 or 100 years old.
