Régnié is arguably the least known of all the Beaujolais Crus; it was the last to be given appellation status in 1988. But from vineyards across steep, granitic hills just to the west of Morgon, the wines are properly dense and textured - especially from the Lagneaus' ancient vines, which are mainly 60 or 100 years old.
