The Beautiful South

We have some fantastic new wines featured in the new Beautiful South list; the Fulcrand Cabanon range (rosé, white and red) from L’Estabel in Cabrières shows what superb interest and value can be found in this tiny pocket of the Languedoc. There is the return of the Château de la Liquière, Faugères Blanc, Cuvée Cistus, a rich and vibrant white that can challenge wines from so-called grander regions. We are also delighted to have shipped a Maury Sec from Domaine Fontanel, a wine that showcases the warmth and terroir of Roussillon. The wines continue to offer superb value. Overall, producers have largely kept their prices flat on last year. There are small price rises, but they are largely due to the new Duty regime implemented by the Chancellor. Talking with producers, they have been keen to stress how important it is that their wines remain affordable. This, combined with the sheer quality of the wines, is why we love to champion this region. There are also six mixed cases with generous discounts.
