This is Alessandro’s top wine and it comes from the best parcels of hillside vines at 300 metres grown on red soils, marls with iron and patches of marine fossils. Five months lees ageing delivers considerable texture and depth to the wine while the soils provide an incisive, mineral edge. White peach, red apple, ripe lemon with a pebbley finish. Much more impressive than any Gavi di Gavi we have tried recently. Now-2028
