“Young-vine semillon from Block 26b, with a little semillon gris from Block 27 and some old-vine material from the Old Quarter. It’s light straw in the glass and presents as a wonderfully expressive wine. Lemon, juicy white peach and a touch of nectarine with underlying hints of clover blossom, honeysuckle, grapefruit sorbet and stone. Alkina is a biodynamic winery in Greenock in the Barossa that has brought abandoned vineyards back to life with an obsessional approach to soil profiling. The Kin Semillon is delicious with floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine alongside citrus fruit and hints of honey and bay. 13%. Now-2028
