Borgo Paglianetto, Verdicchio di Matelica, Terravignata, 2025
This is the estate's 'entry level' Verdicchio di Matelica, but it punches well above its price point. It is zesty and bright, packed full of lime, lemon balm and white peach, all underpinned by Matelica's tell-tale stony minerality. An excellent all-rounder, it can be enjoyed on its own or with food; a simple pasta dish with young broad beans, herbs and sharp Pecorino Romano would be perfect. Now-2028

Borgo Paglianetto, Petrara, Verdicchio di Matelica, 2024
From select parcels, with some vines over 40 years old, this is a significant jump up from the estate's Terravignata cuvée. Named 'Petrara' after an ancient area of the city of Matelica, it comes from south facing clay-limestone vineyards averaging 30 years of age. Floral and stone fruit notes. Terrific weight, energy and mineral bite – transmitted all the way to a very long finish. Super gastronomic white. 13%. Now-2029

Borgo Paglianetto, Vertis, Verdicchio di Matelica, 2023
The name Vertis comes from the Latin vertere meaning 'the highest point' and the grapes come from the highest vineyards on the estate, 400m above sea level. These vineyards are the last to ripen with harvest often taking place in October. The wine is aged for 18 months on lees ensuring an extra level of depth and weight on the palate. Concentrated and intense with bay and wild fennel notes surrounding a firm lemon and nectarine core that builds so impressively towards a long,...

Borgo Paglianetto, Terravignata, Marche Rosso, 2024
"Sangiovese for structure, Merlot for rounded fruit, and Lacrima for aromatics" according to Marco Vecchioli at the estate. The actual blend is 50% Sangiovese, 35% Merlot and 15% Lacrima, and it is just the the type of fresh Italian red we love. Lacrima is intensely aromatic, think fragrant rose petals and violets - and the 15% brings a joyful lift and vivacity to the juicy red berry Merlot and crunchy cherry-like Sangiovese. Now-2028
