Frederic Prain owns one block of vineyards, so chalky and stony as to appear like a white beach, on the boundary of the Chablis appellations: his Petit Chablis abuts the 1er Cru Côte de Lechet. A single oak among the vines appears on his labels. Up on a hill, overlooking Milly and Chablis itself, this is quite a cool site, which has therefore benefited from warm summers.
