Chateau Courbin Heritage, Graves, 2022

"85% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc aged for four months on lees with a small portion in oak. Subtle and sophisticated for the money. Tastes quite rich, too rich to be an aperitif, but a really fine, quite complex wine to drink with food. No hurry to drink. I think this will probably age quite well. Pungent, green-fruit flavours with a little bit of a smoky overlay. Long. VGV, 16.5/20, Jancis Robinson MW, November 2023

"A gorgeous white from Bordeaux made, unusually, with 85 per cent semillon (the balance is sauvignon blanc). A riff of grapefruit and sea spray brings freshness, like glimmering gold threads and a forest breeze (there’s a tiny bit of oak), over warmer, softer flavours of pear, dried mango and beeswax. Very classy and Christmassy", Victoria Moore, The 25 best wines to enjoy this Christmas, The Telegraph, 25th November, 2023

"So, Château Courbin Héritage it is. And what a lot this unassuming-looking wine packs in: creamy roundness, freshness and energy, a touch of oak, peach, linden flowers, herbs, almond cream, red apple and a hint of white pepper-cum-ginger. Complete, satisfying and properly dry. Joanna Simon's wine of the week ,16th November 2023 www.joannasimon.com. Link to full article here

From the Courbin family, 85% Semillon and 15% Sauvignon Blanc, lees aged and with a small part in barrel. Sensational quality at this price. Ripe pears, orange zest and cream; rich and concentrated. Great for poultry or pork. Now-2024

They are very clever at finding wines from the less fashionable parts of France that are as good as, if not better than, those from the fashionable parts at a fraction of the price. Also charming to…

The champagne went down very well. Lots of compliments. Fortunately for me there is some left over so it is now in my cellar! I need to lock it up because my husband loves it. The Crozes-Hermitage…
