A new wine for us from a relatively new enterprise, a partnership between the Cherrier family (producers of our excellent Sancerre) and Jean-Luc Lorillot in Menetou - and named after the oriole bird. As Sancerre continues to rise in price, it seems sensible to consider wines made from vineyards on exactly the same chalky soils and lying just a few kilometers away to the west. This struck us as bursting with ripe citrus flabours, and being classically bright and fresh. Now-2025
