Parti Pris translates as bias. OK, we are biased towards Pinot Noir here, with our shipments of Pinot ranging from Slovenia to the Yarra Valley, but that's not why we bought this. It's because it's a fascinating expression of the grape. From vineyards at over 200m. of altitude on the slopes of the Montagne Noire, aged all in old foudres (big barrels), it's fascinating. From its clear raspberry juice appearance to its floral aromatics and fresh and delicate flavours of strawberries and red cherries it exudes purity and transparency. It's not Burgundian, and it's not New World in style either, but has a dimension all of its own. Now-2024
