A cross of it with Sauvignon Blanc resulted in Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc tends to be softer and has less tannins than Cabernet Sauvignon, although the two can be difficult to distinguish. Many of the red wines of the Loire are primarily Cabernet Franc.

The oak is present on the aromatics, but it’s well integrated now. Deep red core. Blackcurrant flavours tinged with dark chocolate. Smooth and rounded with satisfying fruit concentration, and just beginning to show a certain savouriness. SEGC at a fair price. Now-2027
