Yann Chave, Hermitage, 2019
Yann’s Hermitage, also in demi-muids, but 100% new, comes from plots in Beaumes (granitic) and Péléat (stony, galets) on the great hill. Wholly opaque. Scent of fresh toast over ripe black fruits. Hugely dense, with a tannic frame, but also svelte. Pure black fruit returns on the beautifully aromatic finish. Power and grace. 2024-2033.
“Lots of energy and vibrancy with floral and sandalwood notes that leap out of the glass. Densely saturated kirsch palate with really ripe fruit and very firm and tight tannins.
