Founded in 1933 by Englishman Robert Bird, Esk Valley is an old estate by New Zealand standards. This Pinot Gris comes from twenty-year-old vines grown on the gravel river terraces of the Ngaruroro River, where warm days and cool nights shape a beautifully perfumed, well-balanced wine.
Apricot and acacia lift from the glass, followed by conference pear and red apple on the palate, with a gentle hint of citrus refreshing the finish. A small proportion of barrel fermentation adds richness and complexity, while bright, balancing acidity keeps the wine smooth, refreshing and highly drinkable. Drink Now-2027
