Felton Road, Block 5 Pinot Noir, 2022

Block 5 is situated on a gentle north facing slope in the heart of The Elms vineyard, planted in 1993. Here the parent soil is schist, and that often delivers an exciting, high-toned perfume along with ripe raspberry and redcurrent fruit. 30% new oak in the vintage.

Mid crimson. Ripe red and black fruit elegantly framed by the lightly spicy oak, velvety tannins and the 14% alcohol. A structured wine with good ageing potential. Very long finish. 17/20, 2024-2038", Florencia Gomez, jancisrobinson.com, 14th November 2023

Great choice of good-value wines in the January sales. The website is really easy to use to make up an order. Delivery, as is often the case, was within 24 hours and, as usual, was well-packed.
