Red Recioto della Valpolicella is made after careful late picking of ripe bunches (of Corvina and Rondinella grapes), which are then left to desiccate in the autumn, thereby concentrating body and sweetness. A dramatically bittersweet attack of Morello cherries, raspberries and cassis. Beautiful jellied fruit, very sweet, with a pure fruit finish. Wonderful stuff, equally at home with strong hard cheese as with not-too-sweet chocolate puddings. Now-2029
