Sweetly, charmingly ripe and juicy – like strawberries soaked in smoked mulberry syrup. Haut-couture tannins, like a finely-stitched wool suit. But the fruit has a steady, insistent, throaty pulse and deep, jewelled clarity and purity. The ballast of the wine is rain-soaked gravel. Sumptuous yet savoury, aloof and refined.
