Le Petit Pont Rose, IGP Pays d'Oc, 2024

We sell far more of the Petit Pont Rosé than we do of the equivalent white and red added together - that's how good this honest rosé is. From Grenache and Cinsault, in the Provençale style, pale, light and refreshing, it offers a scent of red berries and a pretty mouthful of strawberry and cranberry fruit, with a crisp finish. Nothing complicated, just a well-made, dry rosé perfect for regular consumption. Now-2026

Grenache / Garnacha

Grenache grows well in hot, dry regions, though it can develop very high (15 degrees+) alcohol.

As such it is grown principally in Southern France and Spain (as Garnacha). It is usually blended with other varieties in the Southern Rhône and Languedoc (Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsaut and others).

Its flavour usually encompasses the...

La Combe Saint-Paul

La Clape, France

Paul and Line Maury might be our youngest producers but winemaking runs in the genes.

Paul’s grandparents and great grandparents were winemakers specialising in single varietal wines, and we list his fine examples of Vermentino, Chardonnay and Viognier.

In 2008 Paul came across the opportunity to buy vines on La Clape and create his own domaine....

Chateau La Grave, Minervois Rose, Expression, 2023

Syrah and Grenache blend. This is made by the saignée method - after pressing the grapes for the Tristan & Julien red, some of the juice is drained off after twelve hours skin-contact. The pale, fragrant run-off juice becomes this fab rosé whilst simultaneously helping to concentrate the flavours in the red. A win-win. Drink this year

Fulcrand Cabanon, Cabrieres Rose 2024

This is named after the priest who reputedly introduced the wines of Cabrières, in particular a rosé, to the court of Louis XIV, the Sun King.New to us last year, this sold like hot cakes. Cinsault-dominated, the 2024 vintage is quite serious for the price; very pale and dry with crisp, smashed red berry fruit. Now-2026

Great choice of good-value wines in the January sales. The website is really easy to use to make up an order. Delivery, as is often the case, was within 24 hours and, as usual, was well-packed.
