Olivier Fichet’s unoaked Chardonnay comes from three plots of vines - some very old - in the excellent terroir of the northern Mâconnais near Viré. We have shipped every vintage of this since the 2005, testament to its quality and consistency. There's a charming floral scent to the latest vintage - a hint of blossom. Lots of ripe citrus flavour. Fichet Macon Dozen
Domaine Fichet has been a key part of portfolio since the very early days of SVS. Run by brothers Pierre-Yves (who manages the vineyards) and winemaker Olivier, it is our go-to source for great, value unoaked white (and now also red!) Burgundy. Founded in 1988, the brothers now sustainably farm some 30 hectares in and around the village of Igé to the north of Mâcon. The whole set-up is impressive, not least the consistency of the wines which deliver year in and year out. The house style places an emphasis on pure, forward fruit and generosity of flavour. They are wines to be enjoyed with gusto.
The cases includes six bottles each of the Macon-Burgy, Les 3 Terroirs, 2023 and the Bourgogne Tradition, Pinot Noir, 2023 - with a saving of £28 on normal bottle prices.
