Château Barrejat, Pacherenc du Vic Bilh Sec, 2023
A little known - and hard to pronounce - but delicious Gros Manseng from the same area as Madiran, north of Pau. Always and exuberant and full-flavoured wine, this is unquestioanbly more elegant in the latest 2023 vintage. Scent of pineapple with a hint of thyme; and then a gush of fresh pineapple tinged with honey. Poised, with satisfying texture and concentration. So complete: this makes a lovely aperitif or an accompaniment to chicken with herbs or simply cooked pork dishes. Now-2026
