So named as Francois Lequin is intending to imitate old fashioned white Burgundy by employing a range of techniques, including regular batonnage (lees stirring) and a modicum of oxydation, on this wine from
his vines around his home village of Santenay.

All in barrel, 10% new. One of our benchmark whites now, comparable in quality to many village wines from the Cote de Beaune. Deep colour. Broad and ripe and buttery, this is fatter and more open than usual. Now-2022

"Toasty nose with lots of savour. This tastes like a real wine made with care rather than a bottom-of-the-range box-ticker. I reckon it will go nicely with our brill tonight. It's certainly almost rich, open and ready to enjoy. I may decant it but if I do it will be for aesthetic not gustatory reasons. Lots of savoury flavour here, and depth. Very satisfying already even if perhaps not made for the very long term. GV. 16.5/20", Jancis Robinson, MW, jancisrobinson.com, 8th May 2020
