"...a fine bargain...Darker crimson than many a beaujolais. Rather agreeably splits the difference between sweetly fruity and freshly stony. Quite long with great balance. Good grainy texture on the finish. More luscious and very slightly less fresh than many. GV. 16.5/20, Jancis Robinson, MW,, 8th May 2020

Gérard is the father chez Lagneau. As ever, this is terrific, with a depth of colour and intensity of bramble and black cherry flavours rarely seen in Beaujolais at this price. Juicy and stimulating. Now-2023

Régnié is arguably the least known of all the Beaujolais Crus; it was the last to be given appellation status in 1988. But from vineyards across granitic hills just to the south of Morgon, the wines are properly dense and textured - especially from the Lagneau's ancient vines, which are mainly 60 or 100 years old.
