Lovely old-fashioned methods: early picked grapes for freshness, whole bunches foot-trodden for low extraction; and then left, post-fermentation, to macerate on the skins for months. The blend is always based on Syrah, 59% in 2017, plus 17% Cinsault, and Grenache and 7% Tinta Barocca, given a very long post-fermentation maceration. Very youthful aromas and attack: vital red fruit with stimulating freshness and vigour – lifted by the strawberry Cinsault note. Opens out boldly, all classy aromatics and rather Northern Rhône in style. Very smooth tannins. Now-2024
