100% Sangiovese grown on sandstone and clay, given two years in oak; the first in small French barrels (none new)and the second in large neutral vats. Showing a little maturity of hue in the glass, this is just on the turn between bold red fruit and the attractive savouriness which develops with time in bottle. Texture and power in abundance and plenty of grip for keeping. Lightly spicy with a hint of liquorice. In Tuscany you would drink it with a rare Chianina beefsteak - go for a ribeye here. Now-2030
