Goedverwacht, Great Expectations, Sauvignon Blanc, Robertson, 2021
A Kiwi challenger, winner of a Platinum medal in the 2021 Michelangelo Wine Awards (scoring it 96+/100 and putting it in the top .75% of entries). Exotically scented and flavoured – gooseberry, elderflower and passion fruit. Excellent weight for a wine at this price. Dry and savoury finish, typical of Sauvignon grown on limestone. Reminiscent of the excellent (and more expensive) Sauvignons of Springfield just up the road. Now-early 2023.
