The redoubtable David Nieuwoudt took over the Cederberg estate from his father in 1997.
We first visited David in 2003, when he was in the midst of his planting programme, and have worked with him ever since then.

Cederberg, V Generations Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019
"Deep and brooding, with intense black fruits supported by Italian herbs, cigar box, and layered oak accents. A pure red and black fruit palate opens into a breeze of fynbos perfume followed by a deliciously tangy cherry-pip quality, and an elegant, soft drinkability". Decanter World Wine Awards 2022, 96/100, and Gold medal
A barrel selection of the estate's Cabernet - and just 5,600 bottles in this vintage - given 18 months in oak. This vintage marks a definite change from the previous style. Firstly it's less dense and monolithic and instead purer and more accessible. Secondly, in place of the customary intense black fruit character this vintage is leavened by a strawberry levity. Thirdly, at 13.5% it has a lower alcohol level than usual. Already delicious, the concentration and balance promises a long future too. Now-2031
