Château La Plaige, Bordeaux Supérieur, 2018

Charmingly labelled wine - which we have shipped many times before. It's a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This 2018 vintage is showing forest fruits and strawberry notes with ripe tannins. Would pair nicely with flame-grilled beef or roast lamb. A long-term favourite at SVS. Now-2024

"Full bottle 1,307 g. Back label tells us it's a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon made by the fifth generation of the Naud family. There's a gold medal on the front label.
Healthy garnet colour shading to a pale rim. Mild nose and quite a sweet palate but with some lift on the end. Just a hint of rusty nails on the finish but this is a great buy for the money with only a little tannin left. Fairly simple but VGV 16/20, Jancis Robinson, October 2021

Excellent wines sourced and chosen by the founder/wine expert, Simon Taylor. We were one of Stone Vine & Sun's very first clients and always buy from them. First-class knowledge and service.
