Domaine Huber-Verdereau, Bourgogne Blanc, Pré aux dames, 2018

"Jewel-bright, crisp fruit. Really ticks the boxes: very crystalline and refreshing but with sufficient substance on the mid palate. Bone-dry finish and real Côte d'Or savour. Quite long. VGV for those who are not label drinkers.... Read More

Meursault, France

At Stone, Vine & Sun we are so proud to have introduced Thiébault Verdereau’s wines to the UK market.

His is a fascinating story. When his maternal grandfather Raoul Verdereau retired in 1974, his family decided to keep his three hectares of vines but not farm them.

Thiébault, born and raised in Alsace, became a sommelier but...

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is one of the most-widely planted varieties in the world.

Arguably not the most characterful grape, hence its common ageing in oak, yet at its pinnacle in Burgundy it produces some of the greatest (and certainly most expensive) white wines in the world. Look out for unoaked Chardonnay, it can make a pleasant change, and usually goes down very well with all those people who...

"Jewel-bright, crisp fruit. Really ticks the boxes: very crystalline and refreshing but with sufficient substance on the mid palate. Bone-dry finish and real Côte d'Or savour. Quite long. VGV for those who are not label drinkers. 2020 - 2024", Jancis Robinson MW, 13th January 2020

We (and Jancis Robinson) really liked the 2017 so we sold out of the previous vintage very quickly: this year we have more to sell. Picked early on 30th August; raised on lees in 500 and 350l. barrels. Expressive and aromatic on the nose, rich with citrus notes and good acidity. Now-2024

Our favourite wine merchant never fails to delight. Delicious wines at every price point - including a few gems below £10 in our favourites list. We’ve really enjoyed the sun case as an easy way to be introduced to new wines which we’ve then reordered. Friendly informative service completes the package.
