Languedoc-Roussillon

There’s something very complete about our annual offer of wines from the Languedoc and Roussillon: with whites, rosés and reds, and wonderful fortified wines, the Vins Doux Naturels which are such a speciality of the region, there should be something for all tastes. Secondly, there are wines for every budget; at every level we believe these wines continue to offer terrific interest...

Mas des Brousses

Mas des Brousses Brousses translates as bush, or brush; this is, literally, the farm in the brush. Amidst the rolling scrub-covered hills around Puéchabon and the pebble-strewn terrasses near the Hérault river lie the domaine’s plots of vines. Tall Géraldine Combes (from a family who have inhabited Puéchabon, near Gignac, since 1525) juggles looking after...

Grenache / Garnacha

Grenache / Garnacha  Grenache grows well in hot, dry regions, though it can develop very high (15 degrees+) alcohol. As such it is grown principally in Southern France and Spain (as Garnacha). It is usually blended with other varieties in the Southern Rhône and Languedoc (Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsaut and others). Its flavour usually encompasses the spectrum between raspberry...

Jancis Robinson

We get super excited when Jancis Robinson (or one of her team) write about our wine! Voted the world's most influential wine critic in polls in the US, France and internationally in 2018, Jancis views herself as a wine writer rather than a wine critic. Mas des Brousses, Terrasses du Larzac, 2017

Seductive, warm Mediterranean perfume of garrigue, autumnal fruit and vanilla oak. Super-smooth palate of cassis and blackberry with a liquorice tinge. Already so sophisticated and will last for years. Given this is based on Mourvèdre (about half, with Syrah and Grenaache), it's so elegant - and consistently the most ageworthy wine in our entire Languedoc-Roussillon portfolio. Now-2026

"Dark purple. This really smells of Larzac with its stones and dried herbs. Really dense and serious with lots of potential for ageing, too. There's also the rich spice of Mourvèdre. A beaker of the warm, scrubby south. Well structured. Drink 2020-2027. 16.5/20", Jancis Robinson, MW, jancisrobinson.com, 8th May 2020

"Mourvèdre (50%), Syrah and Grenache. Some sulphites added because this was barrel aged (400 litres, no new oak). Vivid raspberry and cherry nose with some spiciness. This has a juicy, vivid black cherry and plum palate. Floral, black cherry notes with some nice peppery hints. It's ripe with some liquorice and garrigue complexity, with a bit of orange peel. Very fine and expressive. Deep but fresh with a grippy finish. 94/100", Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, 6th December 2019.

Brousses translates as bush, or brush; this is, literally, the farm in the brush. Amidst the rolling scrub-covered hills around Puéchabon and the pebble-strewn terrasses near the Hérault river lie the domaine's plots of vines. Tall Géraldine Combes (from a family who have inhabited Puéchabon, near Gignac, since 1525) juggles looking after three boys with tending the vines. Husband Xavier Peyraud, grandson of the legendary Lucien Peyraud of Domaine Tempier, is the winemaker. What stands them apart from other estates in the Terrasses du Larzac is the high proportion of Mourvèdre, the vines coming from Xavier's carefully transplanted cuttings from Tempier in Bandol. Their wines are not certified, but they have been organic in practice for years.

Absolutely loving the sun case, what a great way to be introduced to new wines.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for sending my order of 2 x Domaine Begude Rosé to my son and daughter-in-law - I couldn't believe that they received it within a day of my placing the order with you. That is IMPRESSIVE, especially given the current trying times.
