Lequin-Colin, Corton Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2017

The Lequin vines are south facing, high on the hill overlooking Aloxe-Corton - Francois says "un terroir trés solaire". Still quite tight on the nose; but this opens out beautifuly in the glass, with a lovely ripeness of fruit... Read More

Burgundy

The Burgundy Pyramid Making sense of the complexity of the complexity of Burgundy isn’t easy. Though Burgundy only comprises 5% of France’s vineyard area, it holds 100 different Appellations, 25% of the entire French total.  There are no less than 5,000 growers, 85% of whom own less than 10 hectares, and four fifths of them make wine. René Lequin-Colin

René Lequin-Colin Santenay, France This 9 hectare family domaine, which dates back over 300 years, has a lovely range of vineyards, deriving from the marital conjoining of Lequins from Santenay and Colins from Chassagne-Montrachet. Chardonnay is one of the most-widely planted varieties in the world. Lequin-Colin, Corton Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2017

The Lequin vines are south facing, high on the hill overlooking Aloxe-Corton - Francois says "un terroir trés solaire". Still quite tight on the nose; but this opens out beautifuly in the glass, with a lovely ripeness of fruit and a mild nutty character. It's very long; that ripe lemon just lingers on, promising a fine future. We know this wine ages beautifully. Drink from now but best 2022-2026

Absolutely loving the sun case, what a great way to be introduced to new wines.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for sending my order of 2 x Domaine Begude Rosé to my son and daughter-in-law - I couldn't believe that they received it within a day of my placing the order with you. That is IMPRESSIVE, especially given the current trying times.
