We sell a lot of Denis Capmartin's terrific red Madirans from Barréjat, but his Pacherenc, the Gros Manseng based white from exactly the same area of south-west France north of Pau, is undeservedly less appreciated.
Pale gold. This delivers both weight (especially in the hot summer of 2019) and bracing freshness. Bright and tangy palate of ripe apricot and crisp pineapple. Open and exuberant, delightfully fruity yet correctly crisp on the finish, this makes a lovely aperitif or an accompaniment to chicken. Now-2021
