Domaine Begude, Le Cerisier Pinot Noir, IGP Pays d'Oc, 2020

Now renamed the cherry tree, this Pinot is a long term favourite here, fresh and pure (just 10% goes into old barrels) and perfect for warmer weather, served cool with a plate of charcuterie or mild cheese. Inviting nose of wild strawberries and cherries. A lovely clean and fresh palate with strawberry, raspberry and cherry flavours. Juicy and ripe with a crisp, long finish. Now-2022

Languedoc-Roussillon

There’s something very complete about our annual offer of wines from the Languedoc and Roussillon: with whites, rosés and reds, and wonderful fortified wines, the Vins Doux Naturels which are such a speciality of the region, there should be something for all tastes. Secondly, there are wines for every budget; at every level we believe these wines continue to offer terrific...

Domaine Begude

Limoux

We have been shipping wines from James Kinglake since he left his life in the City in 2003 to buy the Domaine La Begude, about 350 metres up in the foothills of the Pyrenees near Limoux.

"I could not quite afford to buy in Burgundy so I chose the next best thing". But it hasn't always been an easy ride: he acknowledges how tough it is to be a farmer: his...

Lequin-Colin, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, 2018

All the wine goes into barrel but only 10% new. Bottled under screw cap, this wine is all about fruit. Ripe black cherry aroma. Lots of ripe lush black fruit with soft tannins: this is so rounded and complete for a generic Bourgogne Pinot Noir. Great value. Now-2024All François's wines are now organically certified, though he chooses not to state as such on the labels as he wants them to sell on their own merits, not just because of a green symbol!

Burgundy

The Burgundy Pyramid

Making sense of the complexity of the complexity of Burgundy isn’t easy.

Though Burgundy only comprises 5% of France’s vineyard area, it holds 100 different Appellations, 25% of the entire French total.  There are no less than 5,000 growers, 85% of whom own less than 10 hectares, and four fifths of them make wine.

To make matters...

René Lequin-Colin

Santenay, France

This 9 hectare family domaine, which dates back over 300 years, has a lovely range of vineyards, deriving from the marital conjoining of Lequins from Santenay and Colins from Chassagne-Montrachet.

We think he makes no less than seventeen wines, though some in very small quantities, for example just one specially made small barrel of Batard-Montrachet!...

Jancis Robinson

We get super excited when Jancis Robinson (or one of her team) write about our wine!

Voted the world's most influential wine critic in polls in the US, France and internationally in 2018, Jancis views herself as a wine writer rather than a wine critic.

She writes daily for JancisRobinson.com and weekly for the Financial Times. She is founder-editor of The Oxford Companion...

Mount Riley, Pinot Noir, Marlborough, 2019

We were really impressed by the generous raspberry and cherry fruit, just smoothed with a lick of oak. Decent concentration and ripeness. Now-2022

Valle Frio, Pinot Noir, Maule, 2020

We continue to maintain that Chile makes the best sub £10 Pinots in the world. Here is the latest vintage of a hugely popular wine here. Fom vines with some age planted in higher sites in the Maule Valley, it's surprisingly concentrated for a Pinot at this price.
Lovely crushed cherry perfume. Delivering bright red fruit with pleasing fat, this shows true Pinot character. With a strawberry accented finish, this is so charming. A total winner - drink with chicken, veal, game or...

Errazuriz, Pinot Noir, Aconcagua Costa, 2019

The latest vintage of the Aconcagua Costa Pinot is again brilliant. From vineyards on schist at Manzanar, it benefits from proximity to the cold Pacific Ocean, just 12 kilometres away, as the vines are refreshed and kept healthy by sea breezes. This successfully combines the virtues of superclean, ripe Chilean fruit with a burgundian freshness, restraint and tannin/acid spine. Perfumed cherries and raspberries. Delicious. Now-2023

Just wanted to say thank you so much for sending my order of 2 x Domaine Begude Rosé to my son and daughter-in-law - I couldn't believe that they received it within a day of my placing the order with you. That is IMPRESSIVE, especially given the current trying times.
