Languedoc-Roussillon

There’s something very complete about our annual offer of wines from the Languedoc and Roussillon: with whites, rosés and reds, and wonderful fortified wines, the Vins Doux Naturels which are such a speciality of the region, there should be something for all tastes. Secondly, there are wines for every budget; at every level we believe these wines continue to offer terrific interest...

Domaine du Meteore, Faugeres Blanc, Les Leonides, 2019

The unoaked Météore white has now reverted to its former name of Les Léonides. A blend of Vermentino (Rolle), Roussanne and Viognier, it's dramatically open, with scent of stone fruit. Then there's a satiny texture to enjoy; and a mineral edge. Plenty of character and complexity, but still lively and fresh. Now-2022

"This is the 16th vintage we have listed of this classy blend of Vermentino, Roussanne and Viognier grown on the schistous slopes below the massif. Unoaked, it never fails to please, offering lots of tropical and stone fruit with generous weight. Try this with a bouillabaisse or any Mediterranean style fish stew." Alistair Lacy, SVS

English owners Paul Jarman and Paul Jenkins are beginning to make their mark here, on this estate previously overseen by Geneviève and Guy Coste-Libes. There’s more focus on the organically farmed vines, with trials of bio-dynamics; and very smart new labels.

The domaine, in the village of Cabrerolles in the north of the Faugères appellation, is named after the huge crater of a meteor which punctures the vineyards; and all of the wines are named after meteor showers. Two local factors mark all the wines: first all the family’s 23 hectares of vines are on schistous soils - and that gives the wines a particular high-toned scent and exciting minerality; and second, the vineyards go up to 350 metres in altitude, and that, combined with cool downdrafts from the plateau to the north, brings freshness to their wines.

Absolutely loving the sun case, what a great way to be introduced to new wines.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for sending my order of 2 x Domaine Begude Rosé to my son and daughter-in-law - I couldn't believe that they received it within a day of my placing the order with you. That is IMPRESSIVE, especially given the current trying times.
