The Piona brothers are reinvigorating this neglected estate, and this is an early, yet impressive effort. A wonderfully colourful, baroque label somehow seems perfect for this extravagantly flavoured example of the Ripasso style, made using dried grape skins to add an extra layer of richness and complexity.
