All from the old block in the Seven Hills Vineyard, 22 months in French barrels, 40% new. Always much lauded: 94/100 in Wine Enthusiast. Warmly black-fruited on the nose, with spice and nuts. The cassis fruit is however tempered by softer, red fruit notes of plum and raspberry. Approachable now, with supple tannins and well-integrated, spicy oak, this will gain in complexity with keeping.
