Jim Barry was a pioneer in the Clare Valley, planting Shiraz from 1964. This wine is crafted in a very traditional Australian style: grapes picked when fully ripe (look at the whopping alcohol level) and all aged in American oak, 2/3 new. Powerful aromas of sweet vanilla and black fruit liqueur. So rich and textured, with lush black fruit spiced with cinnamon and pepper. A classic Aussie blockbuster. Now-2015
