Pierre Fontaneil could label this wine, from Syrah and Grenache, with the prestigious Côtes de Roussillon Villages appellation on the label; but as this wine comes from his young vines he chooses instead to label it simply as a Vin de Pays! Delightfully supple, so ripe and charming, all black cherry and a pinch of spice. Plenty of concentration too. We can see this going down perfectly with a steak on the barbecue when the weather warms up. Now-2012
