Delta, Pinot Noir, Marlborough, 2008
Mid raspberry, pale and slightly smudgy look. Enticing aromas of fresh oak overlaying creamy blueberry and red cherry fruit. Bright, juicy attack. Not sweet, but very fresh, pure and lively, with nice substance in the mid-palate. Could even be served quite cool. Now-2012
Delta, named after the triangular shape of some of the vineyards, is largely a Pinot Noir project. Here the Pinot is so Burgundian in style - comparable (but cheaper) to a St. Aubin Premier Cru from a warm vintage.
