Buy Fine Wines
Bernard Santé, Chénas, 2009
M. Santé admits that he prefers to make “bon vins à grands vins”, but what’s wrong with that, when the result is this lovely wine! Mid depth - clear ruby. Aromas of very ripe cherries, almost a hint of Kirsch. Bright red cherries lead the palate too, which builds and opens out. Supple, but showing plenty of glycerol, a sign of real concentration. Now-2013
Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages, 15th July 2010:
"Lots of refreshing, mouthwatering acidity on the nose. Silky texture. Utterly soothing even if not desperately stimulating. Clearly the work of an honest farmer somehow. I see this is a third-generation grower in La Chapelle de Guinchay. Lots of verve. 17/20. Drink 2010 to 2013."
