Deep purple. Mild black fruit aromas admixed with mocha and vanilla oak notes. This is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Merlot, aged only in French oak barrels: the Merlot offers black fruit to temper the vibrant red-fruited Malbec. Blueberry and cassis core, rich, with well-judged tannins and smokey hints. Not a New World fruit-bomb at all, but a food wine with decent levels of tannin and acidity, and real keeping potential.
